Agentless/Campaign domain issues

Looking at the documentation, Agentless/Campaign email domains should be sub-domain.
So we created a sub-domain and setup.
The TXT record gets verified fine. but the CNAME record verification fails.

but before this setup, I have the subdomain setup as Custom domain
and got it verified fine.
Since Agentless outbound emails require Agentless/Campaign setup, added one more domain setup with same subdomain.

In doing so, the TXT record is verified, CNAME record is not.
We are not sure why?

I opened a ticket with support, they keep providing same documentation.

Any ideas from this forum please?
