Are SSML tags supported in the Genesys Cloud/Amazon Polly integration?

Hello!

Our current decision to use Polly hinges on the ability to use SSML tags. Previous threads from April (forum thread 4939; link omitted due to 2-link limit for new users) and December 2019 indicate that this wasn't feasible. On the flip side, https://appfoundry.genesys.com/filter/genesyscloud/listing/4205d2bf-9989-4a0c-9c52-b31493cecaab suggests SSML tags are supported.

Can somebody confirm whether SSML tags are supported in the Genesys Cloud/Amazon Polly integration? One piece that we definitely need is the ability to dictate pronunciation of certain words by specifying phonemes.

Hi Deepyaman - welcome to our forum! SSML tags are not supported today, but this is a roadmap item for 2021.

I would encourage you to vote for this idea in our ideas portal - this is where our Product Management team will provide timelines and updates.
