We have an issue where we have valid Canadian phone numbers (area codes 709, 450, 905, for example) that do not produce a time zone. This is random across valid area codes. Any idea why the numbers give us "undetermined"? This happens more commonly for Canadian numbers than US numbers.
Thanks!
I can't speak to why Canadian numbers are being problematic, but I can point out that area codes can span time zones. For example, area code 605 covers all of South Dakota which is in both the central and mountain time zones.
Thanks Jason that helps, we are doing some further research.
Can anyone weigh in about using Automatic Time Zone mapping for Canadian phone numbers? We are experiencing a failure rate of higher than 10% in our Canadian campaigns. It doesn't appear that the area codes in question cross time zones. (Examples - 450, 418) Some phones in the area code will resolve to a time zone and some will go to "undetermined". We have checked the format of our uploads and there do not appear to be extra spaces or anything of that nature that could cause the phone number not to parse correctly.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue in Canada?
Is a 10% failure rate to resolve to a time zone normal in Canada?
Thanks for any insights you can provide.
