Bilingual Speech recognition on the Initial Menu

Hi,
We are having a bit of trouble setting up a flow for a bilingual client. The idea is as follows:

  1. customer hears a bilingual greeting, instructing them to say English for english and francais for french
  2. customer says the language of choice
  3. Transfering to a task and setting the flow language etc

What we've discovered so far is that the only language possible (for speech recognition and TTS) until a Set Language action is used, is the language selected when initially creating the flow.

If, for example, the flow is in enUS, even if we add french(canadian)/german/spanish, select them as the default language, and remove english, the flow is still using english TTS and speech recognition.

As all of this is occuring in the initial menu, before one has the chance to "Set Language", we are not sure if it is possible to do this bilingual speech rec at the beginning at all.

Anybody have any ideas regarding this?
