Change UI of Asynchronous Messaging

I have a customer that is looking at asynchronous authenticated messaging as a replacement for their existing "secure message center" application from a third party. The challenge is that the UI for web messaging of that sort is more aligned to chat as opposed to a secure email interface. Is it possible to customize the UI of web messaging widget to give it more of an "email look and feel?"

Hi @chipsharpdotcom can you elaborate, possibly with screenshots?

Thanks for the reply. Consider a customer messaging environment such as a "message center" in your banking application, or something similar to messaging in MyChart which many (if not most) pharmacies and large medical conglomerates use for patient messaging...It has an email-centric messaging style/feel to it. The "patient" or "account holder" logs in and sends a message and then some time later they get a response. It's not meant to be real-time communication. The Genesys asynchronous web messaging has a "chat" look and feel to it which inherently implies a real-time communication.

My question is if there is a way to customize/change the look/feel of this modal to have a more "email" look and feel to it. It would honestly be as simple as widening it and embedding it in the center of a frame.
