Chat not being retained on page navigation

Our users have been able to navigate through pages within the site and retain the chat and chat history. Currently, the user is seeing a "Connecting" screen whenever navigating away from the current page and is unable to continue chatting with our agent.

See screenshot for how it's currently deployed. This is implemented exactly how the wiki states for the webchat.
