Collect customer input in message flow

I want to create an action that collects participant/customer input in message flow just like (collect Data) action in call flow, So that I can store the input n a variable and use it the flow.

I tried using (Get Participant Data) but did not work as expected !!
below is a screenshot of the message flow I have created

Hello,

At this time, it is not possible to implement a collect input/data in a Message flow or in a Chat flow with Architect only.
In Message flow, only the first message sent by the customer (that initiated the conversation) is available via an Architect built-in variable.

Use of bots (Amazon Lex, Google DialogFlow, Genesys DialogEngine) is necessary to implement some type of self-service (questions - and collect answers/intents) with Message or Chat.

Regards,

First I would like to thank you for your support.

Actually our requirement is to build simple flow by giving the customer language selection options, Arabic (when he types 1) or English (when he types 2) .

Can we achieve this requirement using Architect ?
If yes, which toolbox action should be used and which variable?

Regards

Hello,

For Messaging (Facebook, Twitter, Line, WhatsApp), it is not possible with Architect flow only.
You would need to leverage a bot to send the question and collect the input/intent back. Possible bots here.
There is a cost associated with the use of bots.

For WebChat, an alternative approach would be possible - defining a language field in the Chat registration Form (Custom Chat Registration Form). So asking the customer upfront what language to use, before initiating the chat. And then retrieving the value sent as part of the chat request from Architect.

Regards,

Hello Jerome
Is there any plan to include collection of input data in the chat flow for basic Q&A type scenarios where BOT is not really needed?
Thanks and regards

Hello,

No, there is no such plan for web chat.

Product Management and Engineering focus is currently on adding web messaging as a new channel (a new/future version of chat - planned as next step - to support asynchronous chat, ...). Here's the link to the high-level idea for web messaging https://genesyscloud.ideas.aha.io/ideas/CLDIG-I-589

I'd recommend that you request your idea for web messaging (create a new idea I mean). Our product team is always evaluating ideas based on demand.
