Hello,
Some of you may have noticed that, for some time now, when deactivating users, their roles are removed (something that was exclusive to user deletion). This is against what the Resource Center says. This behavior makes deactivating users a non-reversible action, as it is no longer as easy as simply activating them back again.
After speaking with Customer Care, we have discovered this is a recent intended behavior (as far as we know, unannounced) introduced around February, because some customers said that 'when extracting users by role, inactive users were returned, and they did not like it.' However, instead of simply changing the UI to allow for filtering by user state, Genesys decided to get rid of the roles when deactivating a user.
We strongly think this is the wrong approach and that it should be as it was before: user deactivation being an easily reversible action, reserving the destructive behavior for user deletion.
We would like to know your opinion about this, and also alert you in case it may break someone's app (like it has happened to us).
