First few customer messages in a chat don't show in their view

We have integrated the Web Chat v2 widget into our customer facing application. Most of our chats go through okay, but occasionally, we have heard feedback that the first one or two messages that the user sends to our agents does not show in the user's chat window. We can see based on the interaction recording and our agent's view that the chats did go through successfully, but on the customer side, it just looks like their message has disappeared after hitting the enter/send button. Is there some configuration or timing issue that we're running into that we need to change some configuration to handle better?

Please open a case with Genesys Cloud Care as this sounds like a product bug that requires additional troubleshooting.
