Forum SSO instructions

If you're having trouble logging in to this Developer Forum using SSO with Genesys Cloud, follow the steps below to associate your forum account with your Genesys Cloud account.

Log in with a password

To associate a Genesys Cloud account with your forum account, you must first be logged in to your forum account. If you are unable to do this with a prior account due to the SSO association being broken, reset your password by clicking the "I forgot my password" link on the login screen. Follow the prompts to reset your account's password and get logged in using your email address and forum password.

Connect a SSO account

Click your user profile image in the site header to open your user menu, select the preferences tab (person icon), and select Preferences with the cog icon to open your user preferences page.

Look for the Associated Accounts section:

Click the Connect button for the Genesys Cloud region you wish to use for SSO. For example, the "use1" entry is for the us-east-1 region, a.k.a. mypurecloud.com, and apse2 is ap-southeast-2, a.k.a mypurecloud.com.au. If you're unsure which region is associated with your region, see the table here: https://developer.genesys.cloud/platform/api/.

When the button is clicked, you will be presented with a dialog to confirm you would like to connect that region. Click the Connect button on the dialog to initiate the Genesys Cloud OAuth flow in that region. If you are already logged in to a Genesys Cloud account in that region, you won't see a login prompt and the OAuth flow will be completed instantly and you will be returned to the preferences page. If you are not already authenticated, you will be prompted to log in to your Genesys Cloud account using the normal Genesys Cloud auth screen and returned to the preferences page after successful authentication.

Note that the Associated Accounts list will not show existing associations. The page looks identical before and after creating the association.

Log in using SSO

To validate that the SSO association was successful, first log out of the forum (same user menu as above, but select the Log Out option). Then log in and click the appropriate SSO tile to initiate the OAuth flow. After completing the auth process, you should be redirected back to the app and should show as logged in.
