Including HTML content in a Knowledgebase article using the API

We are investigating the Genesys knowledgebase as we consider migrating our existing articles over to the platform. The article editor itself is a very simple WYSWIG editor but whilst looking at options for migration we have discovered that all custom HTML can be included if using the API or a CSV import.

I have opted to look into the API as it is more thoroughly documented and there is this community devoted to discussing it but I cannot see any evidence that this is a supported or intended functionality, nor can I see any evidence of anyone else having done it.

I was hoping to establish if anyone has used the API reliably as a mechanism to include custom HTML content in articles, if the functionality is documented anywhere by Genesys or if anyone more experienced can offer any guidance on whether or not the capabilities of the API are likely to undergo regular/frequent changes that might impact this solution.
