List of specific IP addresses

Wanted to follow-up on this thread - https://developer.mypurecloud.com/forum/t/request-time-out-error-in-webservices-data-action/1988/8 to see if there was any new information.

We are running into the same issue. We are trying to use the Web Services Data Connector to call a custom web service and the request is timing out. It appears to be blocked by our firewall. What specific IP addresses need to be opened to allow this feature to work? The list available through the link on the PureCloud Resource Center is all of AWS and whitelisting all of it isn't allowed in our environment. Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately we currently don't have a shorter list of IP addresses for you to whitelist. This issue is something that we are aware of and are trying to improve on.

To provide a little more color to this, in general we can not guarantee our services to exist within a particular IP range narrowed beyond the range provided by AWS. Because of our architecture, there are multiple instances of any PureCloud service you interact with, with new machines being added/removed all the time as part of the deployment process. These machines are all deployed "somewhere" inside of a particular AWS region, but we don't really know what that IP address will be in advance. There are a couple avenues that we are exploring with our AWS representatives to try and narrow this down, and there are a couple of things that look promising but not guaranteed. If/When this changes, we will be sure to add that to our PureCloud release notes, as well as reference the procedure for gathering PureCloud service IP ranges in the resource center, but until then the most definitive guidance we can provide is currently referenced here: https://help.mypurecloud.com/faq/public-ip-addresses-purecloud-use/

Thank you both for your response. I hope that is something that can be worked out soon.

Is it possible for us to know which AWS region our PureCloud organization is part of? If we had that info, we could whitelist the IP address ranges for those particular region(s), our company is just not able to whitelist everything that is showing up on that link.

That can be determined by the URL you use to login. .com is US East 1 ; .ie is eu west 1; .jp is APNE1; .au is APSE2. Hopefully that helps to narrow things down a little for the time being.

@Richard.Schott

That is VERY helpful. Thank you so much for that information! That should hopefully get us over our current roadblock :slight_smile:
