Mobile transport sdk - unread messages

we'd like to integrate the mobile transport sdk into our application, and would like to know if there's a way to query the amount of unread messages from the client's perspective (e.g. messages sent from our agents to the client/customer that have not been opened/read yet). even an api to get the entire list of messages in a conversation and filter for messages that haven't be read by the customer would be sufficient
