PC User is shown offline in the PureCloud collaborate smartphone application

Hi there,
I am struggling with the genesys cloud smartphone app right now and I am not sure whether this is a intended feature or not:

When I am using the application, I can set my status to all primary and secondary status as always, but as soon as I am opening another app or just placing the genesys cloud app in the background and not using them active, my status is changed to offline (but the app is still open in the background).

Is this a bug or is it intended? Or is there any kind of workaround?
