Permission scope of JWT token on Authenticated Messenger

What is the scope of the permission for this JWT? Is it per customer or is it end-to-end/machine-to-machine permission?
We are checking if it is fine to invoke the token exchange using the AuthProvider.registerCommand('getAuthCode') or we transfer this to the server.

Genesys generated JWT is indeed per customer.
