Hi there-- not sure if this is the right group for this discussion, as it pertains to chat within a mobile app, not on the web.

On reviewing these threads I see a lot of requests for mobile chat integration. We've built and released iOS & Android apps that have the PureCloud webchat widget embedded in a frame within both of those native apps -- and it's basically unusable for a host of reasons that go beyond the purely cosmetic. On desktop browsers, the webchat's fine, but on mobile devices, no.

Are there any updates on a development schedule for properly integrating chat within mobile apps? Back in August 2016 the feature request was being tracked as CORE-3418.

I've checked with the dev team and a chat API is not currently a priority on the roadmap. You'll have to use the current functionality.

Thanks for that update, Tim. Just to confirm, is there any way around this limitation within mobile apps? Or is the embedded webchat widget the only way to implement chat in an iOS or Android app?

The embedded widget is the only supported method of implementing chat at this time.
