Remotely "move" edge to a new org

Hello.

First of all, sorry for the "uncategorized" but couldn't find a suitable category for my question.

Is there a way to remotely unpair an edge and pair it again in a different org?

Because of COVID we have some restrictions on accessing our client's facilities, so this would be very helpful.

Hello Daniel,

While you can unpair remotely, the process to pair to a new Org requires physical access. You can minimize the time necessary to be physically present with the Edge by generating the pairing package in the Telephony Admin UI ahead of time and copying it to a USB flash drive.

The steps to follow are roughly:

  1. Ensure the Edge is currently connected to the cloud and healthy.
  2. Unpair the Edge, using the Telephony Admin UI on the cloud side.
  3. In the new Org, start the "Pair a new Edge" process. Provide the values and generate the USB configuration payload.
  4. Copy it to a USB stick.
  5. Travel to datacenter, follow normal steps to pair the Edge to the new Org.
