Hi @Amit_Akela we have ongoing improvement to allow for customizable name in Embeddable Client, stay tuned!
Hi @Angelo_Cicchitto ,
When can we expect this feature to be rolled.
Also currently is there a way to pass it from Inbound message flow to Salesforce using some participant data or by using external contacts api ?
Thanks,
Amit
The idea with the upcoming new feature is to allow for the configurable name value to come from Participant Data, so you would be able to customize based on business logic defined within Inbound Flow (or even pass it from Messenger).
Does authenticated messaging bring that through to embedded clients already?
Yes, that's correct: when name is retrieved via Authenticated WM integration, it is also exposed in Agent UI and Embeddable Client.
@Angelo_Cicchitto , Is there a way to update the value of "Message.Message.senderAddressInfo.name" using any API from inbound message / Bot flow.
This is not possible today: customization for Embeddable Client will be available once the previously mentioned feature is released.
The Architect Built-In variable you mentioned is tagged as "Read Only".
Please confirm if below are the API's to be used to associate the interaction to a external contact and that will solve this issue for now.
Creating an external contact :
Associating the external contact to the interaction/conversation :
Those APIs are for updating External Contacts, and contact attributes will reflect into main Agent Desktop UI only.
Embeddable Client uses different logic for updating name, therefore you would have to wait for the upcoming feature.
So this will not work for Salesforce, is my understanding correct ?
The new feature will apply to all Embeddable Clients, including Salesforce.
Angelo,
We also have such a problem.
Do You know the estimated time for this feature?
Best regards,
Yvgeni
Hi Angelo,
We ran into the similar issue, we are using web messaging Guest API though. Is there anyway we can update Remote Name? Thank you.
Remote Name is not exposed via APIs, it can only be updated internally within the platform. For example, with Authenticated Web Messaging, we are updating that attribute, and similarly for some of the other 3rd party Messaging providers, where the identity of the user is provided by the 3rd party.
For Embeddable Client, the new upcoming feature will allow you to define name based on Participant Data.
Is it possible to update remote name via architect flow? hmm, someone asked the same question here but not answered yet: Update remote name with external contact name
Hi Angelo,
Can you give me some idea related to web messaging button.
Because There's a few reasons that we're looking at using a custom button, namely:
To add text and make it more inviting (so users know what the button is for) - for example:-
Nice - I would suggest a separate post, as it seems unrelated to this thread
You may want to track this Idea as it's been accepted: https://genesyscloud.ideas.aha.io/ideas/DIG-I-127
Is this feature released and available for use now, I believe the release date was planned to be 7th June ?
Regards,
Amit
