Showing local number on caller ID

Not sure what category this should be in but here goes:

On an outbound dialing campaign, is there an easy way have local numbers show up on the caller ID? I'm not thinking it would go as far as each area code, but potentially state we are dialing in. For example, we know the person we are calling is in MO and we've bought a DID for St. Louis or Kansas City. Do we have to set this at the campaign level or is there a way to automate it?

Thanks!

Matt

Hi,

Good question for the community.mypurecloud.com forum.

Within the out-of-the-box options (UI PureCloud) you can only set one CallerID per campaign.

You can use a Campaign Rule, based in the number called you can replace the caller ID, this must be allowed by your carrier.

Interesting comment about allowed by your carrier. Does that mean our carrier meaning who places our calls to our customers? Or does that mean the carrier we are calling? I tested changing the DID based on these rules you mention and called a few cell phones and it seemed to work. Just curious if some phone providers won't allow us to call them if we are changing the DID to real but localized numbers.

Thanks

It's the carrier that provides your telephony services. Some carriers let you change the outbound data to arbitrary values, some restrict it to a known list of values. Check with your telco to find out what rules they have.
