Upcoming change to format of screen recording export from webm to zip format.

With the release of Multi-monitor screen recording, the exported files for all screen recordings from batch download, bulk recording job exports, and policy-based exports, will be in zip format.

Context:
Currently in the recording batch download endpoint (/api/v2/recording/batchrequests), the bulk recording job exports (/api/v2/recording/jobs), and policy-based exports, the exported screen recordings are in webm format since only single monitor screen recording is supported by Genesys Cloud.

The change is the result of an enhancement to the current Genesys Cloud screen recording feature. The enhancement adds the capability to record multiple agent monitors during ACD interactions. Now, when agents require use of multiple monitors while handling any media type interaction, the screen activity of all monitors will be recorded.
• Currently (prior to release of Pure-1961) in the recording batch download endpoint (/api/v2/recording/batchrequests), the bulk recording job exports (/api/v2/recording/jobs), and policy-based exports, the exported screen recordings are in webm format since only single monitor screen recording is supported by Genesys Cloud.

• This format change applies to both single monitor and multi-monitor recording.

Impact:
Customers will need to unzip the file to view screen recordings.

Date of Change:
• This change will take effect when the feature is released for GA target date Sept 2, 2020.
