User info visible to ClientApp

Hello!

I intend to make a REST API call from the ClientApp to interact with some of our other integrations. Importantly, I need the userID of the user who is logged in and interacting with the widget. Is this accessible at all from the client app or is there another way to get this, perhaps the Platform API/SDK?
