Using grammar characters (i.e. periods) in TTS to delay audio

When using text to speech, does architect recognize punctuation to delay starting the next sentence.

i.e. I've found that if I write a sentence as;
"Please wait for the next available agent. All calls are recorded for quality purposes"

When it plays back it sounds continuous without a (what I call) a human pregnant pause or as if the period was not there.

My work around is to create two TTS and put a blank audio in the sequence..

However, I'd like to know if putting three periods at the end of a sentence will delay the audio from continuing to the next sentence. That way I don't have to make huge audio sequences.

i.e. "Please wait for the next available agent... All calls are recorded for quality purposes."

I haven't tested this yet so therefore this is why I am asking, but more importantly if the answer is "yes" are there other characters that will trigger system audio to do other specific things?
I checked in the resource center and there isn't much on TTS.

Thanks in advance.

Hi AlonsoM,

I did some testing and I did hear a pause when I use a period. It's not a long pause but it's definitely there. If you want a longer pause, your solution of inserting blank audio is the best way I know of. I know the TTS engine recognizes periods and commas to add pauses in the audio; I'll look for any official documentation and let you know.

Using three periods doesn't sound any different than using one period.

Thank you for the response.
