V2.detail.events.conversation.{id}.contact does not fire for first time conversation assigned

As above, when subscribing to the v2.detail.events.conversation.{id}.contact, no notification is received the first time a chat conversation is assigned. If the conversation is unlinked from an external contact and then reassigned to an external contact, then both for the unlink and the assign, a notification is received.

Added subscription to v2.users.3e78c721-cfa8-4461-93ca-fa8267c1f001.conversations.chats
Added subscription to v2.conversations.chats.8e622979-5922-4c93-a120-b076788b8fb1.messages
Added subscription to v2.detail.events.conversation.8e622979-5922-4c93-a120-b076788b8fb1.contact

Does anyone know how to receive the assign event in an "interaction widget" for the first time a conversation is assigned?
