There are various scenarios that could be defined as "going away from the website". Closing the browser completely, going to another tab temporarily (if on desktop), going to another app (if on mobile device).
Can you help us define what circumstances the Genesys Chat recognizes as "going away from the website" and therefore triggers an automatic command to close the chat/conversation?
We are looking for the front-end to "detect" when the user has left the site, and therefore auto-close the chat for the Agent, so they are not just waiting without knowing if the user is still active or not.
As you know, if a user closes the browser window, we cannot then send a signal from the browser to the Agent, since it has closed. So I would imagine any solution here would be a configuration setting on the back-end that would detect the end-user's inactivity/actions. Please advise
