How to access Genesys Platform APIs in a secure/private connection?

Hi,

We have our solutions hosted on AWS (EC2s / Lambdas / API Connections etc) and we access Genesys APIs for retrieving required data for customer reporting.

We have connectivity to our OnPrem system through VPN which ensures that the communication between our components in AWS and our OnPrem Server is more secure.

Yes, I agree that Genesys APIs are over HTTPs and they are secure. But is there a way to ensure that the API access traffic doesn't go through internet, but happens over private / secure channel?

In one of the article / thread I remember seeing that if we access Genesys APIs from AWS infrastructure, then the traffic is routed through AWS Backbone network and not internet as both source and destination are with in AWS. Is that true? Can you provide confirmation?
