How to get real-time status of outbound call (answered, ringing)

We have the Salesforce Genesys Cloud for Salesforce Package installed.
There is a custom class that contains logic to submit the inputs when a click to call event is detected.
What API Method is available to check every second if the call is still ringing or answered?

We have a need to terminate the call after x Seconds systematically without the Agent having to manually count down.
