Mobile SDK rich text formatting

Hello,

The client implemented mobile sdk in their mobile app for Android. The flow has a knowledge base and Messaging config has rich text formatting implemented, and yet they are unable to see hyperlinks and images. Can you please advise if rich text is possible with mobile SDK?

These are the examples not working:

  1. Any word(s) we currently have bolded in any flows or knowledge articles appear with the astrix on either side and are not bolded. Ie: report power outages. Does the Mobile SDK not allow for words to be bolded?
  2. Any word(s) that we currently have a hyperlink assigned to shows the formatting of the hyperlink including the words assigned to the link and the link itself. Ie: word. Does the mobile SDK not support integrated hyperlinks?
  3. Any images we have in knowledge articles show up as an attachment, but does not open the image. Does the Mobile SDK not support integrated or openable images?

Thank you!

Hi Daisy,

Unfortunately Messenger SDK does not support markdown language or hyperlinks. It is on our roadmap, but I cannot tell time estimation for this yet.
As with the attachment. We support image attachments with preview, and they should be openable, however attachment representation and behaviour can depend on the type of the file.
Can you please send us more information:

  • version of the MMSDK you are using
  • Android OS and device type
  • Do you use the default image preview application or do you have custom app to open images
  • what is the file extension
  • what is the content of the file - is it aligned with the extension
    Thank you.
