New Web chat deployment config

We are currently looking at the new web-chat deployment deprecation and noticed that additional settings and config need to be made, I wanted some clarification on the following

  1. Will I keep my original script to direct chats to specific queue?
  2. the following code just needs to be added to the bottom of the script
  1. Will this code only work once I activate for my org?
  2. do I need to create a new Deployment for each website or will the single one deployment
  3. I would like to test the script on my test site, if I enforce web chat deployment my current webchat won't work unless I have the code above added?
  4. can I toggle the setting on/off for testing? as we have multiple customer websites we would need to change
  1. Yes, no changes needed for that.
  2. Yes, correct. Just add the new script without modifying existing chat config.
  3. No, it will work right away.
  4. It depends on what you're trying to do. You need at least one per PureCloud organization. You can reuse deployments, but if you want different behaviors for each one then you would want to have multiple. For example, if you want to be able to deactivate chat on the website independently of one another (i.e. deactivate one site and leave one site up) then you would want different deployments.
  5. Correct. If you enforce web chat deployments in the admin then any chats not using web chat deployments will no longer work. You can do this test in off hours or create a test org. I would recommend that you do test this functionality ahead of time.
  6. Yes you can. You can change it as many times as you want.
