Today Genesys announced a new feature for architect "Workflow" type flows, "Send Notification":
This will likely be a huge win for Trigger / Workflow authors. For example, you could add a notification to yourself to make sure that your newly created trigger is firing at all. Also, if there is an error in your workflow you could email yourself the values that caused a failure.
