Start a new interaction with a customer currently engaged

As an agent on a call (or other interaction type like chat), is it possible to start a new interaction with the customer that I am currently engaged with? I know this functionality can be currently accomplished in the Genesys full client by by clicking the + button next to the contact being interacted.

Im wondering if the same functionality can be accomplished with the Embeddable Framework.
