in a dashboard you can add a agent status widget or a some other widgets which based on users.

When I need to add users I always have to add one single user after the next one. Is there no quicker solution possible like using a group for example? Directly using a group as basis for widgets is not possible, right?

My understanding is the dashboards predate most of the grouping features and haven't been updated to include those.
There is an existing request for this functionality in the Ideas/AHA site -
